Teens Drawing at the Rooms: Discover Your Creative Side

Join us at The Rooms for an inspiring drawing class designed specifically for students age 15 - 20 years old. Whether you’re a budding artist or just curious about exploring your artistic interests, this class is perfect for you!

What to Expect:

Our experienced instructor will guide you through fundamental drawing techniques, from line work to shading. Each session focuses on a different theme, from drawing the harbor view to capturing the details of our natural history collection.

This fun and relaxed atmosphere is a place for teens to meet fellow teen artists, share ideas, and enjoy a supportive environment.

Materials Provided: High-quality drawing supplies will be provided.

Unlock your creativity, express yourself, and create beautiful art! No prior experience necessary.  Let’s make art together!

Playdate

Kickstart your weekend by joining us at The Rooms! Spend Saturday mornings with your little ones in our charming Harbour View Room. It's a delightful opportunity for unguided playtime amidst a variety of toys and books for infants and toddlers aged 0 to 4.

No prior registration is necessary; simply pay your admission at The Rooms front desk and drop in!

Please note that caregivers must accompany their children throughout the session. Our program room can host up to 20 adults with their little ones.

The Playdate is included in the cost of admission. Free for Rooms Members.

Stroll across land and sea, and through time, to meet the peoples who have made Newfoundland and Labrador home for the past 9,000 years.

Celebrate Black History Month with an inspiring afternoon of film that amplifies Black voices and experiences. Join us for a screening of the National Film Board of Canada’s documentary:

John Ware Reclaimed

John Ware Reclaimed follows filmmaker Cheryl Foggo on her quest to re-examine the mythology surrounding John Ware, the Black cowboy who settled in Alberta, Canada, before the turn of the 20th century. Foggo’s research uncovers who this iconic figure might have been, and what his legacy means in terms of anti-Black racism, both past and present.

This event is presented by Memorial University’s Office of the Vice-Provost, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism, in collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada and in partnership with The Rooms.
